Cool Forklift Trick Puts Spotlight on Asian Forklift Operator

Posted by: admin on June 8, 2015

What’s the easiest way to put a coin into a plastic container? For one man from Singapore, the answer is obvious: use a forklift.

In a stunt that has to be seen to be believed, Ronald Khoo, a 20-year veteran forklift driver, recently posted a video that displays amazing dexterity, precision and efficiency. The video has taken Singapore by storm. It quickly spread through Asian social media outlets, and it’s now a popular forklift video here in the United States.

To sum it up: Khoo deftly spins a coin up on his forks, thanks to a nifty “drag-back” move. Once the coin is on his right fork, he weaves thought some cones and drops the coin into a plastic bin. The container’s opening is slightly larger than the coin.

What’s really incredible is how quickly Khoo pulls it off. The entire process takes less than 2 minutes.

And while the attention is welcome, Khoo’s humble nature puts everything in perspective.

“I am grateful to everyone who supported my training. It makes a difference in my life,” said Mr. Khoo. “When my students go out there, they can earn a living, so I feel even better.”

That’s very heartening to hear. Here’s a forklift “rock-star” of sorts (there aren’t many out there), who acknowledges the importance of solid forklift training.

But what about all recognition on Twitter, Facebook and other social media sites? Mr. Khoo’s response is priceless: “I don’t have Facebook!”

Thankfully, OSHA doesn’t require a Khoo-like trick to get behind a forklift. But basic, common sense safety practices are sorely lacking. In order to become the best forklift driver you can be, it all starts with training. And for the best forklift training anywhere, the choice is simple: Certifyme.net.
